Yes if start small hence loss also not too big, avoid greedy in trading using big lot size is harmful account, trading not only about profit but also about loss so as trader need to manage the risk and trade low risk will longer life if compared with greediness
from the looks of it majority of traders trade with leverage above 50:1 mostly off shore i assume, I personally trade1:400 on hotforex simply got used to it anyway. though there are recent talks, especially around CySec where there is a recomendation to have retail brokers lower the leverage max at 50:1 lets see how it goes

Some think 2% is to much and use 1%, others think that is to high and use 0.5%, But they all agree that 2% is the cut off point - many pro gamblers work with the same formula. Ignore the wisdom of the pros - press your luck, go casino mode - who cares? The most common reason why most traders fail is making bets way to big in proportion to their capital.
I am also using 1:50 on my broker now, and so far using this leverage still enjoy, but most problem for me is still not easy to making consistent profit, sometime loss still occured and decreasing money
With 1:50 leverage under CySec brokers trading becomes unprofitable for me. So I was forced to close all my accounts with Cypriot brokers and move to St. Vincent regulated Hotforex account where I use 1:400 leverage.
I think we have different choice, and this is general thing on many business included about leverage, actually I am trying several broker and one account also using high leverage but on cent account with small capital
Some brokers offer 1:1000 on micro accounts and 1:400 on regular ones however i have noticed a few offering 1:3000 which seems pretty unreal in my opinion. So whatever leverage you use i guess it is good to know what exactly will happen to you if your trade went bad, so trade wisely and stay safe.
1:1000 or even 1:2000 are okay for cent accounts, where risks are not so high. The other way the situation can become really sad
