Sure, but what does the average HNW individual get in return for the vast sums he or she forks over?

Progressive income taxation assumes the Government is a silent shareholder in the productivity of every wage-earner - regardless of success - which is simply bullsh*t.

The 'risk capital' invested to protect and mature each citizen is calculable, so why should the Government assume unending dividends, that in some cases, far exceed their initial investment?

  2. I am saying that Europeans consider the USA very right wing, this European guy i spoke to said that the Democratic party would be like a right wing party if it was transplanted to Europe

Sure, but some northern European countries are nearer to Communism then they are to Socialism. Effective tax rates in Denmark, Norway, Sweden are well over 60%. Some cases 70%. That's retarded. I would never live there.

Comparatively, US top bracket is well above 50%, in some states. That's local, state, federal plus sales, property and gas tax.

At what point do we axe the bureaucrats and tit-suckers and return to a fair economy where every person earns their keep?

  4. Will never happen. I personally like the idea and would love to see it, but politicians will never make it happen. The lawmakers make the laws, and will never make a law that puts themselves out of a job.

  5. Police. Courts. Military.

The police protect the rich from the poor.

The courts are there to send the poor to jail.

The military (manned by poor people) is there to maintain the nation that belongs to the rich.

But yes, there are too many poor and the poor are a drag on the economy. Nobody should be allowed to lay around all day making welfare babies. Anybody on the dole should have to work usefully for taxpayers`money.

HNW`s don`t do it all on their own, though. Nobody earns a billion dollars. Vast personal wealth is only possible in an intricately complex social system. The HNW forks over vast sums but gets to keep even vaster sums - none of which he created all on his own.

Allso, the common people would be fools to allow the wealth of the nation to be in the hands of an elite that would inevitably rule the country and make democracy meaningless.

  8. There are very few poor people in any of the countries you cited. There`s much more misery in America.

BTW Stefan Persson, who resides in Sweden, is worth $24.5 billion. Now why on Earth would anybody need more money than that.

  9. Nothern Europe is a bad deal, 70% taxes is just the beginning, in addiction everything is twise as expensive as in the US, also its quite darwinian, lots of reverse wealth distribution, the poor pay lots for necessities like fuel, electricity and cars. More than 50% of the cost of a new car is often taxes, fuel is 3x the price in the US, electricity well more than 80% is often sent directly to the government. A mcdonald meal in Norway is 15 USD, while the rich are getting much higher public pensions.
