How much do you REALLY make trading?

  1. Maybe you are right about the poll. I don't know. But in my case, I am challenging a 22 yrd old with one screen, a cable modem, trading on 3 hrs sleep, who claims to make very consistently $15gs a week in 2003 in stocks. Very unlikely.

I have been trading for a couple of years now and my approach, methods and techniques have been evolving all the time.

Although I trade everything, these days I like to daytrade stocks, primarily the QQQs.

The size of my account is $100,000, as I take all gains out of it religiously every month.

2002 was my first profitable year, although 2001 was not too bad - around breakeven. March 2002 was my last losing month.

I'm currently able to pull out about $6,500 per month.

  5. Trust me, if I believed you made that, I WOULD BE jealous (in a friendly way). Since I don't believe it, I'm not.

    Marc,

I got a check for $500 bucks in your name if u fax me your last 2 months statement. If it's not showing 15k per week profit, send me a check for $250.

2 to 1 odd, I will take that anyday. $500 bucks for dinner for 5 mins worth of work faxing. Not bad isn't it ?

If u want to do fax it, let me know.
Because I bet u that I would win the $250.

  7. Why would you need to prove anything to anyone on ET... much less issue a challenge?! Sorry, me thinks you protest too much.

Have only shared my situation with a few guys I got to know via chat; and anyone who tells me they make money all the time is a little hard for me to believe. And I'm saying that having had many months of real good profits... and having a great Feb-March swinging in a tough market. But everyone gives some back... no one is perfect.

So IF you are making that kind of money... what would you say is the reason you came on ET; to share your insight or prove to others your value? Most real good traders I've known usually don't have to brag. Same on ET. Have fun..... yeah! Celebrate victory... right on!

    But why compete.

The competition in this biz is within ourslves.

G'luck on continued (apparently ) dynamite trading...

  8. To Thunderbolt...

should break down this poll further...

how many of the traders earning money... hold overnights, swing, do options, futures etc.

    Or a combo.

I know this is a daytrading site.. but would be interesting.

    I:cool:

I got my 100k from a property that I sold, which is profit. I actually was uncomfortable doing that because my family has been in real estate all my life and that with hard work is a solid business, but it really burned me that I lost what I lost. So this money is now being used to get some back, again I use it as supplemental income but doing well now. Slowly but surely I will be back, it isnt brain surgery, alot of it is patience.
    Take care
