  5. Good Morning AgatheYou,

    Question please.

    1. What does the word Pro mean? Please specify and definitely quantify what Pro means?

    Thank you.

Most of people trying don't even get there (profitable) and most just give up.

It's not just putting the hours and the effort.
    Not everyone can be profitable.
Not everyone can make enough money to justify the effort and risk involve.

And on top of that, the journey is not linear. You don't necessarily get from point A to point B in straight line. You might be profitable for 1 year and blow up the next one. Or, you are profitable for 3-4 years and then lose the next 2-3. Once you are profitable, you need to stay profitable.
So the time it takes to get 'there' is not that easily estimated, because you won't know that you are profitable only after many years of profitability. It's an never-ending journey.

  7. Hello danielc1,

    Agree!!!

    A laugh for you.

My lady friend ask me a few months ago, "You being doing trading for so long, why you not a Millionaire yet?"

My exact words was "Because I don't know a Millionaire Trader who wants to teach me Exactly how to be a Millionaire Trader "

She said, so "where is the Millionaire Traders at"

    I said "Hiding, I don't know"

    Lol hahaha

Even to make a meager income from trading I'd say approx 12 years. Even then you'll probably have to supplement your income with "peripheral" sources related to trading, youtube videos, etc. Otherwise you better keep your day job and just trade in your spare time.

  9. Maybe it’s possible in 6 months if you have a successful trader to mentor you which gives you close guidance. And no, I don’t mean trading coaches on YouTube.

That will be the exception to the rule, though.

For the vast majority of retail traders where you likely belong (as do I by the way) a realistic expectation would be five years as a bare minimum. Most likely ten years and with no guarantees at the end of the road.

The thing is there’s no substitute for experience. Reading is not going to help you, although of course it’s part of the curriculum.

You simply need a lot of experience. And it takes TIME to accumulate. :)

Best do something else with your life, IMO.

Takes longer than most have the persistence or work ethic. For those who do, it takes what it takes....pick a number.
