curious how many on this board trade futures solely because of the 60/40 tax rate. I am always interested in learning about tax savings...Keeping the money you make is as important as making it in the first place. Please discuss.
%% NO; dont have to= Roth is tax free 100%....................................................................And i live in state free of income tax also. ,
I trade futures solely for tax rules, but not the 60/40. I live in a country where there is a tobin tax on stocks, etf and bonds.
I trade CME futures to make money. If they HAPPEN to have a more favorable tax treatment than other instruments, so be it. But if I found I could make more money trading stock futures, I'd gladly pay the extra tax, because I was, well, making more money. P.S. TSLA is a dog, take it down. That is how much I know about stocks. That is why I trade commodities.
