  1. Hey....... how did this turn into a "posturing ego" thread...

    Scientist is intelligent
    Electric is a loser
    Longshot is FPC

  4. In my humble experience with remote traders working their own accounts, serious remote traders working their own account generally consider it a loss if they don't make 1K a day. Plenty have much higher goals. Thats my experience with the guys I know.

Scientist, that geezer post struck me as a homerun, and it seems to have set you off. Just because he said you know "jack". Most real traders probably agree with him. This thread isn't making you look very smart.

I think he meant, you know jack shit, as in you don't know anything. I don't think he meant you know jack, the guy jack. Doesn't make sense. I could be wrong though.

But anyway, back to the question I asked earlier before scientist and longshot went at each other, how do you trade without TA? can you really trade just by looking at level 2? If i'm currently profitable and making a living, do you still recommend I drop the indicators?

  6. Scientist, you are such a dork (I may have said this a time or two before). I'm amazed you can even find your way out of bed in the morning.

Trashing your high-toned naivety is losing its attraction and you've harshed my buzz for the last time. You are now permanently on Ignore.

  7. 90% of Daytraders are losers!

Most pro traders use two types of strategies simultaneously.
1.) Daytrading to achieve about atleast 1/3rd of the daily bar.
2.) Swingtrading holding about 3days or longer turning into position trades during powerful trends. This is more prevailant in the FOREX were trends are more powerful and last alot longer!

Can't answer all of your question, all I can say is I average over 8 S&P points a day, trading the emini.

If I trade 10 emini contract lots that would be about $80,000 a month. Obviously trading more contracts would be more $$.

I venture to say that I do better than most daytraders, and maybe not as well as others. But am very content to be where I am - above average.

Hope this helps you in deciding what you want to do. Feel free to PM me if I can be further help to you.

    Good trading to all

I could not disagree with you more!

I trade purely mechanically and generate over 300% return every month for the past four plus years.

I'll stack that against "discretionary gut" traders any time!
