I try to follow a routine of not touching my face when I am in a store or hitting the ATM or something like that. You may screw up and do it otherwise but that is not the time to do it. Then if I can discipline myself to do that then I can use hand sanitizer or a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol in the car to kill anything that may be on my hands from being in the store. I am sure it helps and I am sure it is not perfect as well. All we can do is improve the odds. I dont do somethings yet because the virus is not in my immediate area so I am sort of "practicing." If it were here and I was making a run to the store, I would hit the car door handle with some sanitizer spray too if you think you deposited anything there after- for example- using the ATM. Could be obsessive. Could be just right. Whatever. Everyone has to work out what's right for them. As I said, I am more in foreplay mode right now and will ramp it up or down depending how things go. You see people with latex gloves and masks etc but that is a mixed bag. Unless you know what you are doing those just become breeding grounds for the virus unless you are sanitizing them as well at key junctures. I have seen quite a few articles that point out how wearing masks without a disciplined routine makes things much worse because it causes the person to constantly be touching their face as they adjust the mask over and over and over again.
Experts reckon it will be with us forever but we will have a handle on it when a vaccine is developed which is at least 12-18 months away.
I understand the UK is looking for volunteers to be infected with SARS-CoV-2 (pays $4,480). Why don't you try it? https://www.wsj.com/articles/wanted...-sick-to-find-coronavirus-vaccine-11584615600
There is an argument to me made that living in a too sterile environment will over time weaken ones immune system. Not to say we shouldn't practice good hygiene and use practical precautions when mingling among our fellows, but a little dirt eating is a necessary component in maintaining strength.
I grew up with farmers and for goodly parts of the day there was no real risk of being "in a too sterile environment."
Had enough lost my cool today!!!! Was just in Walgreens and seen a dude whose cart was FULL to the brim with hand sanitizers, baby wipes, soaps, everything that people need!! I called him a selfish dickhead and gave him a verbal beat down about the elderly, moms, and people who need this shit . Told him I should stomp his ass! He looked up at me and said: “Are you done? Cause I really need to get back to restocking the shelves now!!
