How long until inflation (reported inflation) hits?

    In the UK if you went shopping to one of the big supermarkets for a general basket of food/goods/supplies this time last year and it cost you £100, the bill is now £115 to £120.

    Power prices going up round 10%+.

  2. AK100 there lies the problem the official CPI rates exclude volatile "energy and food". Not to worry though these increasing costs are feeding through to all other products and services so "core" CPI is finally being impacted by the cost increases.

    Once the public in general have expectations of inflation then central banks will have to act.
