I look at the above poll with 170 responses, and see there is still only one correct answer maximum "1050 or thereabouts". All the other responses are wrong. Yes, it's still early December, but this has held now for months. The response of "1050 or thereabouts" was also the least responded to with only 33 of us choosing it, which is less than 20% of the respondents.
says that we have just completed a very large A-B-C from the October 2002 low, and he is targeting 961.
At what number will it be "around 1100" instead of being "1050 or thereabouts". IMHO "thereabouts" has a tighter envelope than "around", and therefor"around" 1100 would be the correct answer. I think we need a new poll to determine whether it got to "around" 1100" rather than "1050 or thereabouts."
I think here is where we differ. When I hear "around 1100", I think of around 1090-1100. I think the intent of the original target of 1100 connotes that "around 1100" is 1090-1100.
Ok, lets say that "around" and "thereabouts" are equal, which most people will agree is fair. If that's so, then 1090-1100 would equate to 1040-1050, based on your interpretation. Now, since SP got to 1074 then it is closer to the "around" area of 1090-1100 than the "thereabouts" area of 1040-1050, making "1100 or thereabouts" the more correct answer.
I don't think so. You're just making up rules as you go! Let the people decide for themselves what's what, you don't need to interprete for anyone. The good folks here can decide for themselves. Now move on "moderator".
From a quantitative standpoint, a high of 1074 is closer to 1050 than 1100. If you play on words, like you have, then you can fudge any of them to work. I think you're being quite silly. Are you really a moderator?
