‘Sympathetic’ prosecutors from Manhattan DA’s office lower bond to free alleged shooter

An attempted murder suspect accused in an Upper West Side shooting was sprung from Rikers Island thanks to “sympathetic” prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office who helped get his bond lowered, The Post has learned.

Darius Mungin, 20, had been locked up at the chaotic jail complex since October on charges he shot two people, including an 81-year-old apparent innocent bystander.

But he was cut loose earlier this month after prosecutors agreed to lower his bond from $500,000 to $100,000 — citing concerns for his safety following two gang assaults.

“The DA’s office seemed very sympathetic to Mungin’s situation and recognized the abuse and chaos he was suffering at Rikers,” Mungin’s lawyer Brian Kennedy said, adding that his client is “ecstatic” to be out of jail.

Possibly more prosecutors leave Marilyn Mosby's Office; questions go unanswered

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore’s prosecutor’s office could be losing more attorneys as the top prosecutor continues to fight her own legal battle in federal court.

Baltimore Courtwatch, an online court watchdog group in the city, reported that three different assistant state’s attorneys didn’t show up to their court hearings on Tuesday; ASAs Colin Campbell, Elizabeth Hoffman and Andrea Grzechowiak.

FOX45 News asked Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s Office on Wednesday if the three prosecutors had in fact resigned and if so, how many vacancies are currently in the SAO. Those questions went ignored.

Meanwhile, Mosby herself continues to face four federal charges; two perjury counts and two false mortgage application statements.

In October 2021, FOX45 News reported on another round of resignations from Mosby’s Office. Since May, at least 40 staff members have stepped down from their jobs. It’s unclear if that number has grown since then because questions have gone ignored.

Soros is doing what needs to be done. Things no one else will do. For years, he's been the focus of an international campaign of half truths and outright lies aimed at discrediting him, all to no avail. He's an old man, and he does not care what you or I or anyone else thinks. He will persist in putting his money behind the causes he cares about. If anyone wants accurate information about Soros's activities and his philanthropic work, correct information is available.

  8. I'm certain he cares about his money and reputation, the alchemy of finance only works with securities/currencies that are floated on exchanges, people's perspectives on reality can not be changed via intrade or the Soros fellows that an open society can solve the problems behind closed doors. From the looks of it, Soros has always been behind closed doors for while the rest of the world deals with an open door policy that money can solve problems...one question? when did exchanging paper for intrinsic value become a form of value investing? At the end of the day, little has changed, just the form of accounting seems a little strange, one or a billion, it's still the same old sweatshop, billions sweating for a random number on the screen...

  10. I'm sure soros will ask hitler why he invaded poland, I don't think hitler will agree with the open border policy on the eastern front. The question why are they yelling "end us " in the twilight zone? I don't no there some strange politics going on in the underworld, just make sure you don't fight over stone...
