It is usually pretty easy opening an account with IB online so long it does not require you send some documents multiple times. IB still ranks high in ease of opening an account online.

and if you can find someone here is the symbol for IB - IBKR. you can short the stock and make a bundle. let us all know your findings. also let us know when you back up the truck and buy puts.

  5. Open the account with $10,000 and then withdraw $5000 back out. You get one free withdraw per month and the fees after that are super cheap.

$10,000 is better to start with anyways though.

  6. I've opened 2 for myself, 1 for an Aunt, and 1 each for Mom and Dad. My 2 were done in 10 min or less, super simple. My Aunt was the hardest because she doesn't listen. Mom's was middle of the road requiring a couple docs. Dad's was super simple, just attached images to e-mail and done real quick.
I have looked into others, but when they ask me to print out the 14 pages and fax them back, I tell them it's not worth it.

No improvements needed, do you have any concerns in mind?

For those who votes for 10 points = most difficulty to open a new account, please post your experience in more details and also what do you think IB can do to improve the ON LINE new account open procedure.

  9. I noticed you didn't answer my question.

Why are you asking about this? It seems like an odd question, and now that you've had the vast majority say it's easy to open an account online, you don't want to accept it, and continue to ask whether people have had problems. Did you have a problem?

By the way, it takes about 15 minutes to open an account online. Probably the easiest account opening I ever did.

It is not I have problem to open IB account or not. It is to try to understand how easy to open IB account ONLINE for people (not just for myself).

If this topic has been discussed before, please post the URL, if you would like. Thanks.
