How does the order book work

    I opened up BookTrader in IB for IYR Jan '12 $25 Call and it is showing a bid of 26.35 and a bid size of 0. How is this bid number determined when the bid size is 0? I placed a bid of 4 options at 23.50 and the book has not changed. Shouldn't my order appear in the book?
