    i am watching my ib weekly statement and am confused on how it calculates the profits.
    for eg.
    ESMO entry 1 short @ 1.164.5 and exit @ 1.165.25 = -41 $
    so how much is a quarter point

    YM entry 1 short @ 10705 with exit @ 10698=31$
    so 1 point of YM is smaller than .25 of ES

    i am very confused. Pl help to throw more light on how these future works.
    i am used to stocks. number gain in stocks times volume = profits. i guess in futures that does not work the same way.

    GET ON TO A SIM account first!

    Then go here and look up the point value of YM or ES.

    hint:

    ES = $50/handle

    YM = $5/handle

    PS: If I was drunk, I really would have told you what I was thinking!

    ES = 12.5/tick
    YM = 5/tick
