how do you think like a trader?

  1. Wow lots of great insights in this thread. For me, I had to learn that I can't calculate the future or even the odds. All I can go from is correlations in the past, hoping they will continue.

I think you are starting with a wrong presupposition...Which may effect your trading.

Retail trading is so little of the market...It's the other 77-78% you need to be aware of.

    Just grabbed off the net...

"The percentage of total trading volume coming from retail investors was about 23% from January 25 to February 1, JPMorgan's Peng Cheng wrote in a note to clients this week, narrowly edging out the record retail share of 22% in the pandemic-fueled trading frenzy and a massive increase in retail volumes since late last ...Feb 3, 2023"

Another off the net...This is 2019, but maybe double the retail market.

What percentage of trading is dark pool?

'Dark trading' is an anonymous form of financial exchange that is becoming increasingly mainstream. In the United States, the percentage of the value of trading executed 'in the dark' doubled between 2008 and 2012. In terms of volume, dark trading venues executed nearly 40% of transactions in US shares in April 2019.Jul 17, 2023

  4. Good Morning mute9003,

I really wish I could help you, but the truth is, I can not help you, because I am not a year to year consistent day trader myself.

But I understand what you going through.

    My answer to you:
    1. Keep trying and try to enjoy it. Eventually something will make sense for you.
