How do you like trading this volatility?

  1. Size lol. Right now I just trade 1 NQ per entry if I trade it. The main reason is that ES is good enough for me to trade.

  2. Great job!

The market will always offer more than you can take, so just be happy you're making good money. :)

    Right.

But if you're trading NQ when the market is more normal - why is it that you're not trading it right now? Is it too volatile/jumpy in your view? Would be nice to hear your comments on that re: the thread topic.

Are you more of a scalper or do you aim to capture larger intraday swings?

  3. You ask a good question, and the stats actually say I should be trading Nasdaq (NQ stats for month to date below). I like to TRY to capture larger intraday swings but I am happy if I can just make it to the next level.

Nowhere near as impressive as Mr. McNoob (props), but going in the right direction!

    Overnight

Actually, no, that was a swing-trading system I was developing to avoid overnight margins. It was overly complicated. You can see how it worked in my journal in the journal section. I got spooked back in the day when CL started fluctuating beyond a ~$10 range back then. So I switched off to the equities. I do not know in hindsight if that was a good move or bad move. But I can tell you one thing...If I had been using that system when CL went negative nearly two years ago? I would have been in a world of hurt I think. Not sure, because my software and datafeed, like many others', could not handle the negative settlement prices.

My software showed $0.01 on April 20th, 2020, while the price was really like -38 bux. Ug.

    Alas.

  8. Nice.

Looks like @nooby_mcnoob discovered the obvious? ;)

  9. I prefer it like this. The moves are cleaner and my version of PA reading goes exactly to plan with the increased "velocity" of the PA. no complaints here. And the overnight sessions are even juicy !

Whether or not he is aware of it, he is getting paid by the market and that is clear to see!
