If selling options is optimal, why do something sub-optimal? Hedged risk is for the birds

Pick strikes based on your strategy. What's your strategy?

The question is too general, thus all the bits and jokes.

Might as well ask how to make money or buy low and sell high.

Picking strike prices involves predicting the underlying. Start by navigating that.

  7. But usually I gather buying a certain strike price is better than another with days or weeks until expiration. The crowd knows something when it comes to picking strike prices.

The crowd buys it for their own reasons.

You have to have some speculative reason to buy anything.

You've decided you want to buy an option. Why? What do you think the underlying will do? Or what do you think it might do?

  10. why not 38.5 on XYZ instead of 38 but yet, price and volume is liquid on 38 for some reason over just .5 points more. does the crowd know something?
