    A better question:

How do you NOT hold overnight? Good grief, this is one of the strongest bull markets ever.

OK class. Do you make more holding for multiple days or just intraday?

  2. Which markets are these? Pretty calm these days in the stock indices and have been so for a while.

All of the indexes have broken out to new highs.
    Calm?
SPY is up 4% in the past 4 trading days
IWM is up 7% over same period

I bought 14 small-mid caps on Oct 14-18 that are up an average of 13.14% and that includes one that is down over 25%.
The best is up over 35%.

I have been holding large positions for the last 17 years. I did not know it is bad out there these days. Need to check my portfolio.

  8. Aloha mute,

Are there certain stocks you want to discuss? Maybe showing a couple charts would yield more ET input and learning

Algos have always been there and always will be. Honestly, they make the market more efficient and without them, liquidity would be low. Scalping too. Always been there, always will be

    Overnight

The anethema of "holding overnight positions" is a throwback to God knows when.

If you have a 401K or any sort of long-term investment, you are already holding your positions overnight.

    Like, duh.

In Futures, all you need to worry about is the janking up of the overnight monetary requirement on maintenance margin.

Is that what you are on about?

Well, it really depends on the trade setup. If you’re confident that the market will move in your favour overnight and you’ve done your analysis, then holding overnight can make sense. The key is having a clear plan, knowing your risk, and being comfortable with the outcomes. If you trust your strategy, then it’s easier to hold.
