    Simply learn that you create your stress. Then learn that you can choose not to create any stress.

    Then you no longer need to try and learn how to deal with stress.

  7. I relieve stress the oldfashioned way. I jump up and down, scream a lot, throw things, bang my head on the wall, etc. Works like a charm.

  9. granted, "flooding" or desensitizing one to the anxiety stimulus or changing one's perceptual interpretation to the stimulus could help greatly. i find that i need a certain amount of nervous energy to keep me honest and get me out of my losers. anxiety is not always a bad thing. i think the previous posts that include exercise as a way to release this stress, are right on the money. alcohol is a terrible stress reliever since it depletes serotonin (a stress buffering neurotransmitter).
