    There's a lot of wisdom in your conclusions Pricechange and I enjoy reading
    your personal journey since it is similar to mine and at the same time totally different.

    Doing retrospective on your post Pricechange I come to the same conclusion:
    A stable mind creates stable trading.

    It can be expanded into life in general too. Good observation there.
    You learn from the experience and apply the knowledge.

    In short, that is the road to success in whatever you decide to do.
    Simple formula, tricky to follow. That's psychology in a nutshell if I may be so
    bold.

    I made a similar journey personally but it took me to my 30's to get there
    and involved a longer story that might make a book. ;)

  2. Thx for personal feedback. As I have already said, this could be consistent with the Market Wizards series, since the topic is not even touched upon. (cos all of them in stable(/"boring", i.e. not much to talk about) relationships?)
    So far in this category are: PriceChange, wrbtrader's friend, rallymode, RobSwe
    In the "thrill seeking" (possible psychological explanation would be the thrill in gals compensate the need for thrill in trading?): LuisHK

    Not sure I understand what you mean, could be an interesting insight.

    Treat your relationships like your best trades.

    Same psychology applies.

    Cut losers fast and let your winners ride.

    And keep a trailing stop in place for when the winners also start to turn against you.

    This.., in theory..., and superficially - appears it would work...

    Filter out the disruptive..., remove the critics and cynics

    End up with only supportive people surrounding you

    ====================

    Issue is - supportive is typically associated with like minded

    Group think - especially with regard to life..., and/or trading trading - is never good

    Little food for thought

    ====================

    I do agree turmoil is never good

    The ultimate tool..., learn to compartmentalize - the ultimate solution..., eliminate it

    If you can live with trading the markets as if it were your female boss your chances are better. Besides one can switch her off at will and she can provide. Both pluses absent in the wife/girlfriend.
    Maybe they will invent on/off switches for women ? lol

    i read somewhere that when Jesse Livermore was trading, he was thinking about shagging and when he was shagging, his mind was on trading.

    If you can't be like Spock then be a sociopath. If you can't do that then compartmentalize like Bill Clinton. If neither of these work then reduce size to the "I don't care level."If that doesn't work then paper trade. If that doesn't work then ask for help on the boards. If that doesn't help try porn. If that doesn't help QUIT you are probably not compatible with trading.
