According to some ET members, that EL alone is not built to creat
    advance strategies without knowing C++?
Can some some comment if is it neccesery to learn C++ and without it not much of use?

  2. Also read the Charlie Wright series of articles about system trading here:

    THis is an excellent starter.

THe examples use tradstation however the concepts a relevant for use with any backtesting technology

if you know C++ you can make more money just by working in programming area :D :D :D
you dont have to go that far...EL alone is more than enough. at least for starters :D :D :D

  4. My previous jobe giving me $4000 a monthe and i were not
a programer. Where i live C++ programmer don,t make more
    than $3000.

If some day i know that i can't make $8000 at least, I will give up trading, based on what i entend to invest as my trading capital,
    and plans.

Btw i don't think learning C++ takes more than 6monthe effort,
but trading takes a year for even a genius person, to learn.

  6. I've not seen the book , but I tend to agree. TS provides manuals and tutorials and if you want to pay, seminars. IMO, this should be sufficient.

i may agree, buy dont tell me that C++ programmer with 5 + years work now for 36K in US like Nana says..

in 2000-01 they get AT LEAST 75K+

i know guys who work for 150-250K in 2000
and i didn't take 6 month to learn, like some people think..

  9. Yes, actually i am located in Asia, and still some people do get less than what i had mentioned, that is why US government want
outside professionals, because they can work for half salary.

But why they are not coming, because they need to stay at
    their culture.

Btw, did you you meant that you learned C++ less than six monthes, and How this is used for EL? Does DLL( what?) converts
C++ to EL in order for TS to understand it? I don't have any programing background at all.

  10. I offer some basic(VB6) source code as well as other VB6 routines and plan how to develop a robust trading system, since you do not accept email I posted this here. (not to be a crass plug.. will not place my web site here...:)
If you want to go further email me or call I also will talk for 1/2 hour for free. Look up my profile for web site.
    cheers
    P.S. I am a trader and a (ex-)techie....
P.P.S. do not get turned off by VB6 I work with VB.NET and it is fast. VB6 is for rapid prototype and quick development.
You do not need c++ unless you want memory leaks and constand problems...
