How do I buy some of those AMD senior notes?

  1. They seem like a pretty decent deal..

6% interest while you hold the bond, then if the stock price exceeds 28.08 or whatever the # was, you short the stock at 28.08, collect short interest on that, plus the coupon until maturity, win/win!

Its called a convertible note for a reason.

I could only find one AMD bond at IB. It's CUSIP 007903AF4, issued 20021125, having a maturity date of 20071201, and a coupon of 4.5. It is a convertible and the underlying collateral is a senior note.

  4. Hmm.. yeah, that's the only one I found too.

I don't think the new notes are out yet, and part of the reason they're issuing those notes might be to pay off the ones that are about to mature.
