@Handle123 Well, that was a sudden topic change but personally, I never buy anything "lite". It's been long proven that all calories are not the same -- getting a calorie from broccoli vs getting one from a bottle of coke is not the same at all. Not to say that housewives don't buy into this "lite" crap, plenty of people drink cancerous aspartame filled soft drinks thinking it benefits their health...there is no shortage of ignorant people.
We have a couple of those frozen yogurt places for sale near where I live. The ads made them seem somewhat desperate to sell, they were trying to talk up all the potential and everything with a new owner etc.
If it was so promising, they would not be selling it. And only way to get out of bad leases is bankruptcy, many have clauses to let you out but often so high, not feasible when they going down with the ship. Best always to just buy the equipment, this way you can move elsewhere, rename it, and not have to pay for past bad debt. Other businesses are just like business of trading, you don't know what you doing, time to get out.
well. lot of folks who have tried to be trader and didnt make it, would hate you when you say that who have never tried, is very curious, but mostly I see they are negative about this based on history and many wives think this is one of the ways husbands lose money than what we make
When I'm asked; "what do you do for a living?" I reply, "equities trader", and most times that glazed over look appears. Thinking of taking some night school courses to fill the social void trading creates, otherwise can't think of anything else I'd rather do. 10 years trading, last 3 full time, and always look forward to Mondays. Cheers!
I think that there is nothing embarrassing at all. First of all, it is a nice job, especially for mothers or mother-to-be's and as long as you do not have very high expectations of making fortunes. It keeps you update about the world. That's my personal feeling...I am very new in this business, but I still think that I can make money in this job, if some people are having doubts, it is their people, not my problem.
Maybe it's because I started in another career, and had to work a long time to reach my goal of trading full time, but I am proud of being a full-time trader. After I drop my kids off at school in the morning, and am driving back home into my neighborhood, I see lots of people driving out for work. Every time I think, "hahahah!! suckers!!" Sometimes I actually do it out loud. I love what I do, and the woman that married me loves me because I am not a drone. I think generally only stupid people would not envy what I do. For folks just starting out, you just have to suck it up for a while and be humble until you reach your goals. And don't be stupid and lose what you've accumulated. Ever.
