How did you get started in Daytrading...

  1. As in how you knew, it was something for you?

As for me, I am still testing the waters to jump in...

  2. Thinking you are better and smarter then everyone else. Then you have the drive for it. But don't think that's enough the emotional beating you will take in the beginning and the search for the holy grail will humble you. It's a lot of hard work and sacrifice that will teach you the discipline needed. I forgot if you are not rich you will go broke many times and get taken advantage by many firms. Like the donkey with a rider on his back dangling a carrot on a stick in front of him and for some reason the faster you go the further the carrot seem's. But don't give up.

  3. Or nowadays you can just keep trading 100 share lots with IB and lose only a few grand a couple of times until you finally turn profitable.

I started with position and swing trading first. Then I shortened the time frame gradually.
