Do you want a selfish reason for Anek posting here at this site? I'll tell you one: When you TRY to explain how you trade to others, you must verbalize and put in objective terms many ways of thinking that are subconscious. During this process, you learn more about yourself and your trading. If you read AHG in detail, you could easily observe his evolution as a trader, especially getting rid of stuff that is/was useless except as a crutch. Moreover, when you have a bunch of other people interested in your thoughts, and expressing their opinions and views, you can grab a bolt here, a nut there, that was EXACTLY what your trading "weapon", method, etc needed to become more eficient, effective, whatever. Yeah, he gave a lot to a lot of people that participated, but I can assure you that he came out ahead, and in the process he emerged a much stronger trader than when he started. Maybe that's also why he keeps doing it, to keep improving his approach. Everyone can add up and see that if you have ANY kind of consistent success at trading, you really do not need to sell subscriptions... As for the "successfully" guy selling subscriptions at XXX$ per month...well... it is easy to see from his fruits, his words, his "output", if you can learn anything from him. Maybe, in this weird world, that way of expressing himself indeed gains him customers. It is a weird thing to sign "successfully" after spewing a lot of curses, toilet language, etc. Maybe, that's "success" for him. I know I have grabbed more nuts and bolts from Anek's posts in ET than from the "successfully" guy posts. And that's all that matters to ME ME ME ME ME ME ME. I must confess, it is hard for me to understand Anek's wasting time with this guy, but I guess destroying an enemy has its rewards too. I'm sure Anek will find a better use for his time soon enough. shakira
I have been following this thread, and feel the need to throw my two cents in: 1) This Alex gentleman, seems like a blow-hard. This is re-enforced by the fact that he has stated he worked for the IRS, which in my opinion, is one of the lowest things a human being could do. As a businessman, I am amazed at his unprofessional rantings, but to each his own. 2) I have not had any interaction with Anek, but I am aware that he has posted a lot of useful information, which equates to him giving of his time, freely. A person who gives of his time for the benefit of others, without hope of monetary gain, gets a gold star in my book. This brings me to the "turn him in to the government" direction this thread has taken. Above, I stated that working for the IRS was ONE of the lowest things that a person could do, in my opinion. A close second is the act of turning someone over to the "authorities" or snitching. I have been somewhat taken aback by the prevalence of that attitude on this site. I have seen this attitude pop-up in a few threads. Trading is the most individualistic , entrepreneurial crafts one can endeavor to pursue. The act of snitching or running to the government for redress on such trivial matters seems so inimical to the "pioneer" spirit of a trader. If this Alex character has caused harm , sue him, ignore him, take out full page advertisement's detailing the matter, whatever, but running to some desk jockey bureaucrat seems beneath human dignity. Respectfully BV
True, I believe the CFTC has much bigger fish to fry than to redress the wounded feelings of internet gurus.
<i>"It would be nice austin, Unfortunately people like anek know that the CFTC would laugh at me. Imagine if I called them and say look CFTC I got these emails from anek, a member of my trading room a year ago. He praised me, and did recommend about 7 of his friends to my web site. Now, because I and other trading web room operators would partner up with him, he wants to start trash talking .....please investigate and tell all the ET people that I am telling the truth. CFTC: "Alex, don't be an ass. We are tje CFTC. Our main job is to investigate chages against brokers and trading advisors who TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY you know where people open an account, and you do something illegal or crooked with their money. Like steal it, do an unauthorized trade, rip them off etc. You are an educational service that does not accept client funds so we have no concerns with you. And you do provide your clients with the required warnings about how risky trading is."</i> Alex, I'm not so sure about all of that. I've seen the CFTC hammer some websites for what may seem like little, trivial things. The wrong email testimonials directed to one site and posted on another was one event. But you know what drew the biggest fines? Six figure fines? A website paid for third-party trade signals called. The signal service was run by some desk jockey in Chicago who never traded one dime... just posted calls. Now, the website had all necessary disclaimers in place. But the signal caller talked about how much money his team was making, etc. In other words, he inferred that real trades were taking place when in fact none were. Now that little point is something the CFTC really frowns upon. When someone talks about trading & profits, that supercedes the website diclaimers. Enticement to join a service by suggestion of real-trade execution. You do indeed accept client funds, $299 per month on precisely that premise. Airplanes, the good life, etc is a dream you are selling to them. * I'm a registered CTA, Series 3 licensed. I can tell you for a fact that running around spouting anything that comes to mind with no brain sift is not a good idea. At all. There is a minimal code of conduct expected from someone in your self-appointed position of power. Abusing that in the eyes of governing regulatory agencies is never a good idea. I'll say this much about all that. I personally have no idea how successful you are as a trader and/or businessman. Likewise, I have no idea how successful Anek is as a trader. Perhaps you are both trust-fund children, married into wealth, drug dealers, lottery winners... who knows? No one here can possibly know for sure... there is no iron-clad proof of anything. Alex, you've presented evidence that Anek is/was a paid member of several paid room services, which he has repeatedly denounced as evil. You've also exhibited behavior that slips well past the border of lunacy. I'm not sure how that equates to emotional control in the heat of live-money trading. ET forum is pure entertainment, just like a two-floor bar. Top floor is where classy conversations are held between drinks. Bottom floor is where peanut shells litter the carpet amidst yeasty sticky spots from spilt beer thru the ages. Baron likes it this way, because of the massive page hits such drama draws. The serious traders here really don't care if you and/or anek dry up and blow away, or emerge as vindicated heros. Why would we? Doesn't add or subtract anything in our lives. It will be interesting to see how you two resolve this disfunction, but not nearly so compelling as catching the next bear-market squeeze for +100 points/handles ES profit per contract intraday.
I agree but so far no response from Anek. I don't see what the big deal is, spyder and I and several other good traders use to be in the room all the time sharing trades and it was fun. So Anek what say you ???
no it doesn't. if one wants to be skeptical one can go on forever being skeptical, there is no end to it..so you make a record of Anek's achievements say for 3 monts.. after that a Jaob II comes up and says ,hey, this might have been pure luck ,how do we know you are still profitable? market change ..hey, dude, you gotta prove yourself..there is no way around it, especially if you want MY RESPECT! I say, stuff it. waste of time. i guess some of those guys are pissed off the room is closed for them.
Joab Nice offer but Anek trades with about 30 of us everyday on his private channel and we are wittnesses to his trading abilities. It doesn't matter what the the doubters think, Anek doesn't have to prove shit to anyone. He is what he is and there are plenty of people who can testify to that... A great trader
If I were forced to pick one person who I thought was an ES trader earning a good living from his trading only, in other words, a pro futures trader, it would be.... austinp judging by his posts and the occasional advice he gives, he seems legit.
So tell me how I get in ? I'm more than happy to witness to the board IF he is the real deal or not. I'm pretty sure my reputation here is very credible. I've traded live with many of the best traders in here and it really isn't a big deal.
