Great Analogy! Although many realized he was a liar and fool we unwittingly accepted him not realizing the existential threat to democracy and the rule of law he would become. And too, the Trojan Horse analogy seems especially appropriate considering Russia's involvement.
Trump should be banned from participating in the next elections for this reason, found in the US law: Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection and Other Rights Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. Trump organized and instigated the attack on the Capitol.
Most of the analysis from the Left about Trump is just childish name calling. Looks like nothing has changed since November 2016. Reminds me of the MSNBC & CNN analysis the day after the election. They blamed it on sexism & racism especially that idiot Van Jones. Trump won because he has mad charisma like Hitler or Napoleon & he gave lip service to the losers of globalism that the Left love so much. Since Bill Clinton & his DLC organisation the Democrats abandoned the working class especially the midwest white union workers. The DLC guaranteed to become neoliberals like the RNC and rely on billionaires to fund their campaigns. That's why the Democrats can't even end the ludicrous carried interest tax loophole. What a joke.
But is the blame on Dems (or Reps for that matter), or on the hegemony of money-power? If we're going to criticize Dems for not living up to and achieving what they claim to value and so caving to money-power, we must also criticize Reps for having been openly supportive of the growth of money-power. So I see the situation as a mathematical wash, and the blame continues to rightly rest on Capitalism, at least under-regulated Capitalism.
