In case you did not notice their leader has recently stated they want to spread the technology and said they would wipe Isreal off the map and made all sorts of other threats.

If someone told you hey I cant wait to kill people with the gun I am buying would you let them buy a gun?

Again this is why you cant let Dems run a country. They just do not get it.

They let NK become nuclear and say well NK has nukes why not Iran?

  2. Let me ask you.

Which would you prefer, to start WWWIII, or try a diplomatic solution?

Now, please use reason, not a Biblical (looking forward to the Rapture and Armageddon) reply....

  3. Bush claims he tried all diplomatic means before invading Iraq.

You really believe that to be true?

How diplomatic is it to call a country a member of the Axis Of Evil?

The neocons freak out with Iran's comments about Israel, etc.......but how much better is it for a president to call a country a member of the Axis of Evil?

It was stupid rhetoric then, and stupid rhetoric now, from the mouth of a stupid man, George Bush.

I say we wait for a regime change here in this country before we do anything....

  4. "The neocons freak out with Iran's comments about Israel, etc.......but how much better is it for a president to call a country a member of the Axis of Evil?"

    freak out terminology aside...

so, it is even remotely comparable

    1) a president calls a country led by a man who hero worships stalin, who is a vicious murderer, torturer, and rapist, and a truly evil man, part of the axis of evil

    with...

    2) a country calls for the DESTRUCTION of israel

    lol

fwiw, many US politicians referred to the nazis, circa WWII as evil and they were right to do so

reagan referred to the USSR as an evil regime. he was right to do so

Kennedy referred to communism as evil. Ich Bin Ein Berliner and all that.

Truman referred to Nazi Germany as evil

    etc.

We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. ~John F. Kennedy

  5. If Nazi Germany was Evil, then by comparison Iran is a naughty little boy....

That is the problem with rhetoric, it becomes meaningless, and is not a means to diplomatic solutions.

I am not excusing the mindless stupidity of the rhetoric of Iran's president, but we heard stupid rhetoric from Saddam for nearly a decade, and it was meaningless. It seems to be what those folks in that part of the world do, talk trash....

Unlike the crazy born again Christian's who are longing for the "Latter Days" I haven't found that the leaders of Islamic countries are suicidal or actually longing for the end of the world. They aren't mindlessly reading Revelations with an Armageddon interpretation, so I don't believe they want total self destruction as their goal.

Sure, they might pump up their minions who are foolish enough to drink the Kool-Aid, but the leaders have not been suicidal.

Any strike on Israel is pure suicide, and we all know it.

    >>>Smallfil, doesnt it make you sad that president bush has brainwashed another generation of young kids into fighting a pointless war in iraq.<<<

US foreign policy has always been geared towards protecting oil supplies. Take note, I say oil supplies. Liberals like to quote the no war for oil BS. There is no such thing. Not once, in Iraq, in Kuwait, etc. did the US get any free oil!!! Never was and never will be!!! However, we have always protected oil supplies including escorting the tankers during the Iran-Iraq war. Endured the terrorist attacks against our armed forces in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Embassies in Nairobi and Kenya. The fact is we need oil. We need oil to generate electricity, we need oil to run our businesses, we need oil for most everything we do!!! That is why we always have a Middle East presence via our aircraft carriers stationed in the Middle East. It doesn't matter which administration is in power because they very well know that oil price spikes will hurt our businesses, our economy and the public!!!
That said, we were stupid not to develop any alternative energy
sources. Now we are paying the Piper!!! Don't tell me that BS that is is GW Bush's fault because he was for oil. This thing has been going on for so long. Clinton was President for 8 years and what about other US Presidents before Clinton?
What about Americans driving those gargantuan SUVs and trucks. I'm from California and I see a number of office mates continue to drive those trucks and huge SUVs and whine and cry about high gas prices. People need to take responsibility for one's actions----it is easier to blame someone else!!!

  7. zzz, the primary difference between stalin and saddam is a matter of scale

they are about eqaul in their evil, rapacious, murdering ways

SH simply is not as smart as stalin and also did not have the resources (population base) etc. to make as much of an "impact" as stalin, but he is immensely evil

stalin killed in the 10's of million, and thus makes SH lok like a piker, but in SH's case it aint for lack of tryin'

you can whinge about rhetoric all you want, but call a spade a spade

the SH regime WAS part of the axis of evil, and is no more

was it WRONG of kennedy, truman, etc. to make those references vis a vis evil?

i am happy that bush is willing to name evil, and point it out where it lies

    that is refreshing

    reminds me of john kennedy

or scoop jackson. both democrats, btw

  9. The Left does not believe in evil, except for inequality, which to them is the greatest evil of all.

  10. i am good, although like all people i am flawed

but yes, i believe it important to name evil and call it out when one sees it ...

to paraphrase, all that is necessary for evil to succeed in the world, is for good men to do nothing

one of the first steps in addressing evil, injustice, etc. is to name it when one sees it.

if you can't recognize evil, that hinders one in having a strategy towards dealing with it
