How can you tell when the trend is over?

  1. In order to make that statement you would need to know ALL the people on Reddit and here...

It is very simple really. Once you finally decide to join the trend, it will end.

One should release an app which automatically counter-trades against a newb, and shows the profit in their balance.

Take a small fee from the commission, and hedge the trade.

It feels that truly one of the best edges is being new and so consistently wrong.
Allowing someone to stay that way might be in everyone's best interest.

Unless you're using a 100% symmetrical strategy (same criteria for entry & exit), doing the reverse of a losing system will not necessarily result in a winning system.
It would be too easy if this was the case.

While true, perhaps all you are looking for is that newbie entry.
The rest is fairly manageable and automatable risk management.

What would you say the % chance of a newbie being completely incorrect on direction, based on the operation of the market as you know it?

Give them a ping once a month or so: "would you like to buy or sell that?"

Trend ends when both upper and lower Bollinger Bands angle inwards towards the center line.

    Exactly, thats one way.
Not knowing '' a trend reversal from a small correction'' ; = to small of a time frame, aka noise.
My comments apply to medium+ long term trend.
No wonder Paul Tudor Jones bought a farm + shoots duck.

Sometimes a trend has a particular feeling, like a rickety old ladder in the wind.
