Musk doesn't actually seek as much personal attention as he gets. Just the media love to report on him because it gets them massive clicks. While no one is interested in what the boring Zuckerberg Android has to say.
I did a quick analysis of Nasdaq 100 stocks going back to 1990 (including delisted companies and companies no longer part of the index). The fact that the companies were/are part of the index means their market cap was/is significant. Total dates analyzed for all the various stocks was about 870,000. Of those dates there were 896 large moves (15% either way) or about 0.1% of the total. In the last year a move like this happened 23 times for the following companies: ALGN ANSS DDOG ENPH FTNT LULU MDB META MRNA MRVL NFLX NVDA SGEN SPLK TEAM TTD ZS Doing SD calculations and volatility requires a lot more work. BTW, Meta had an even bigger move last year (+19.76%) during its Feb 2023 earnings. Gary
