Exactly! It means the measuring system being employed is bullshit!
Harry Potter is below Dickens, but Tolkien is above?

By the metrics they are falsely using, The Silmarillion would be the most difficult book in the universe, with a Lexile rating of a billion. But they do not rate reading difficulty in the same way as what we normally think of as "reading comprehension."

Go on, try and read the thing. Geez.

You'd be surprised. Address the argument, not the person.

Your argument is not an argument. I presented data and analysis and you presented a bad opinion. I’ve given you the most precious commodity in the world, information, and you given me nothing.

How high you must think yourself to be. Mightier than Zeus and wiser Athena. @ipatent has spoken. Behold his stupid ass opinion.

It's the opinion of someone who has read a lot of books and articles on the general topic. Who had his photo in the paper a long time ago for his own test scores. So there.

  8. Chicago teachers create an opening for vouchers

Lefties beginning to chatter among themselves about how the Chcago Teacher's Union is playing a game of three dimension chess that might blow up on them.

Meanwhile New Hampshire and Arizona are reporting that they are getting SWAMPED with requests for more information about their educational freedom/voucher/subsidy to parents programs. And of course the new Governor in Virginia camaigned and won on platform of educational freedom.

The teachers need to have their pay docked and shifted to other community and parent based alternatives such as micro-schools are forming across the country.

Chicago has nothing to lose by experimenting with alternatives unless you are a teacher. The kids are learning nothing now and if the teachers return and the kids return to school, they still won't be learning anything.

Note to binary thinkers: You do not need to rise and point out that nothing big will happen soon. That is not the point even though the binary thinker puts everything in an either/or framework. The teachers union is fully in control, but the council is subject to change, particularly the ones campaigning and open to adopting pilot programs for demonstration projects in selected neighborhoods, as is happening elsewhere in country. Quite possibly. And the teachers union does not want certain ideas, programs, and free-thinking on their turf because that is a threat to their long term grip. Once parents get a whiff of local control and freedom, even if it just some project across town that looks like it could be expanded, it will prime the pump. And unless Merrick Garland locks them all up, some of these parents- left or right- or left and right together can get pretty rowdy these days. And that is a good thing.

No doubt Usual Tard will show up at some point to tell us for the tenth time that everything is groovy in his neighborhood in New Jersey so what's the problem? That's how these lefties roll. They just take people from the dem plantations down off the shelf at election time and them put them back on the shelf afterwards. Otherwise they don't care about the permanent underclass caste system they created off in the dem plantations.

    from the article.

During Wednesday's press briefing, Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined an opportunity to challenge the Chicago union during Wednesday's briefing. She only would say President Joe Biden "wants schools to be open."

Apparently, if the radical teachers unions choose to deprive urban kids of classroom instruction, Biden doesn't want to go all wild and crazy by criticizing them.

That leaves an opening for the right.

Corey A. DeAngelis of School Choice Now responded that when Safeway workers go on strike, "families can take their money elsewhere. That bottom-up accountability provides pressure" on employers.

"The only way out of this mess is by funding students directly and empowering families to access alternatives."

That's right. School vouchers. Brought to you by the Chicago Teachers Union.

  9. When you dont have fathers and structure in the household, this is what happens. As long as the black community continues with irresponsible lifestyles, nothing will ever change.
