That is, if they aren't on holiday! Anyone care to guess?

I am guessing down 500 points at open, rally into lunch closing, then end day down 700 points.

  2. I would say down 1,500. Yen up 7%.

  3. Slammed is the right term and I guess 750 points.

  5. What are the hours of trading for the Nikkei 225 in EST? I'm thinking of adding N225M to my IB watch list and paying the 1200 JPY ($12.00 USD) for the market data.

Nikkei has been quite decoupled from U.S. stocks so far this year (yes, they've both gone down overall but day-to-day has been unusually erratic). However, I can't imagine it not opening signicantly lower.

No need - you can follow the Singapore listed mini-Nikkei which is half the size and has no market data fees. SGXNK I think is the symbol.

  9. 178 points +/- 5.

  10. Thanks...I just added the SGXNK and I see the bid/ask spread is 13880 / 13880, that's odd the spread is 0.

Now what are the trading hours in EST?
