Futures flat, I guess this wasnt news because it was already given that they were going to pass this vote tonight, I guess all focus now is on Bubble ben bernanke tomorrow and how he will keep the economy propped up with new QE3 and more trillions!!!

Going to be fun to see him stutter tomorrow about how everything is just fine in this "strong economy".

They can't, although it's a small amount compared to say California's economy, or the U.S. military budget, they won't be able to pay it off, so someone is going to have to write a check. That's what the fuss is about, who will have to write checks (figuratively of course).

  6. "Greek politics remain the main risk," said a recent report from Nomura International, which put at 70% the probability of Papandreou's government winning the confidence vote and passing a controversial austerity bill a week later.

Parliamentary approval of both is needed by the end of the month if the European Union and the International Monetary Fund are to release the next installment of a $146-billion bailout package stitched together last year to stave off Greek default.

"This [vote] was a mini-hurdle for Papandreou," former Finance Minister Stefanos Manos said. "His biggest challenge will be pushing the austerity package through Parliament [next week]. It won't be easy, and it's anyone's call."

but it appears to me that the market is tired of Greek drama and nobody will be paying any more attention until/unless there is default.

  7. is the vote on Wed during US pre-market session?

so far everything is played out just like last week: indices running up BEFORE the vote, then ZERO reaction to the actual news.

will the history repeat itself? we shall see.

  8. Last time, the Papadebtos learned when to vote: when the futures/markets are closed for trading.

  9. Titus 1:12
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Now, this does not mean that pork bellies are a consistent Greek financial instrument. More modern translation:

    Titus 1:12
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

There you have it. Proof positive. NOW you can make your plans with regards to Greece with immediate certainty!
