How 'bout a system to rate posts. For example, you could have button on each post which would pop-up a rating like: 1- this is garbage 2 - Almost garbage . . . 7 - Informative 8 - Good info - others might want to check it out 9 - This post has been extremely helpful/informative 10 - This is the most useful post on EliteTrader Then these could be compiled automatically and the "Poster" could be rated with an aggregate average. Also, the highest rated posts could be posted like the posters with the most posts are rated now. How 'bout it Baron?
i think it is not too good to put things like "this is garbage" or "almost garbage". Why not ask :- "Was this post useful to you? " (Yes/No)* * Got the idea from amazon.com Or instead of rating a specific post, why not rate the a particular thread ? And incorporate this rating in the Search program.
OK, maybe the "garbage" stuff was a little harsh, but at least have it scaled, 1-10 or 1-5, whatever so it can give a little more info. Also, I like the idea of rating a thread the same way! That would be very helpful. The whole idea behind this is that there's a lot out there on ET and this type of thing would help you to find some of the most useful stuff.
