Stupid thing to say. Cocaine abuse is often more obsessive than fun, and a few years down the line emotions from even the biggest parties do fade. Waking up and raising one's kids broke , than growing older and sicker still poor, is something that will sting for much longer than some night's high.
Besides as someone noted in the comments, didn't the wasted trader confess insider trading ? Can't he incur legal complications from doing so ?
I'm sure that the guy in the story learned a lot, he seems to be reevaluating his value system... I'm happy for the guy because he doesn't seem too proud but he's still keeping on keeping on.
