For years now U.S. State Department has had the following travel advisory on Tajikistan....

Tajikistan Travel Advisory. Exercise increased caution in Tajikistan due to terrorism.

Sounds like a great place to travel to.

read the article from Russian newspaper that i translated with translator.

    interesting view, imho :)

In July this year two cyclists from Washington, Jay Austin and his girlfriend Lauren Geoghegan were killed in Tajikistan. Both of them resigned from boring work and went to ride the world on bikes. On the 369th day of their trip, when they were on a country road as part of another group, they were overtaken by a car. The driver braked, turned around, and then crashed into a group of cyclists. Those who survived, people who got out of the car were shot, cut and robbed.

Two days later, IGIL (an organization banned in Russia) released another video: five people who committed this crime were seated against the black flag of jihad and vowed to cut "infidels".

You, of course, ask: what feature of bicyclists in shorts and T-shirts has ridden to ride on Islamist territory?

The answer is that Jay Austin and his girlfriend were not just adventurers. They were idealists. They went on their round-the-world trip in order to prove that evil is an invention.

"You read newspapers, and you are forced to believe that the world is a big dangerous place," Jay Austin wrote in a blog post. - "People," they say to you, "should not be trusted. People are bad. People are evil. " I will not fall for this bait. Evil is an artificially constructed concept that we invented in order not to understand the complexities of people like us just having values, beliefs and perspectives different from ours ... In general, people are kind .... Generous, and wonderful, and kind. "

The sad story of Jay and Lauren serves as a living illustration to the strikingly interesting experiences of John Hibbing, a professor from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. John Hibbing and the staff of his political physiology laboratory argue that it is easy to predict by physiological reactions of a person whether he is a leftist or a conservative

Hibbing's article with the results of his research in 2008 was published in Science, and in 2013 he published a whole book: Predisposed: Liberals, Conservatives, and the Biology of Political Differences. From the experiments of Hibbing and his group it followed that the left and right have different physiological responses to the threat. If the right one hears a loud noise - it reacts more strongly than the left one.

Hibbing showed people pictures that depicted something disgusting-for example, a huge spider on a human face or an open wound with worms swarming in it, and could easily predict from their reactions which of them was leftist and who was conservative. At conservatives at a kind of disgusting photos the sympathetic nervous system worked much more strongly - sweat acted. The left responded quite differently - their reactions were much less pronounced.

Another series of Hibbing's experiments was that people were shown a series of pictures, some of them neutral, some others ugly. The conservatives lingered on the disgusting picture much longer than the leftists did. From this, Hibbing concluded that the Conservatives have something that he called "negative bias".

Being a deeply leftist, like almost all American professors, Hibbing concluded with regret that conservatives for some reason pay attention to all the negative, menacing and disgusting, while people on the left simply ignore these incentives. "Those who are in politics on the right, and those who are in politics on the left, just perceive the world in different ways," Hibbing explained.

This, in my opinion, is an absolutely amazing result. All the more striking is that the author, who belongs to the liberals, does not seem to understand very well what he said. In a sense, he even pities the "conservatives". Look, they say, what they unhappy. They have damage at the cognitive level. When they see misfortune, trouble, trouble - they stop at it and think about it, instead of saying to themselves "it does not bother me" and flit to the next flower.

Frankly, this experiment gave me an answer to the question that always occupied me: why are there so many leftists among the young, prosperous, well-fed, grown up without problems and worries?

The answer is: because the "left" is not a matter of belief. This is a state of mind. This is primarily infantilism. It's an endless ability to ignore real problems, "because I'm fine and I do not want to focus on this."

Lefty looks at life through rose-colored glasses and is very offended if someone recommends removing them.

Lefty hears of an Afghan refugee who hired gangsters to splash in the face of an acidic wife for taking off the hijab, but he does not want to focus on it. He reads about how in Afghanistan his husband tortured and killed his nine-year-old wife (she was sold to him as a wife at the age of seven for thirteen thousand dollars), and he is uncomfortable thinking of this as a problem. He does not think. He reads the news that a terrorist who blew up a stadium in Manchester was rescued from Libya four years before by the British Royal Navy: "We will not pay attention to these sad things," the leftist says to himself.

"They are disgusting, they are easier to ban directly in the mind. They are unpleasant, and therefore irrelevant. All those who notice them, just fascists. " Levak hears about the areas in Paris where the police can not go, about Molenbeck, which became a hotbed of terrorism: and if you think about it, all these are problems that are difficult to solve. Therefore, it is not necessary to think about this. All these facts do not fit into the picture of peace and happiness and must therefore be ignored. The only ones who really bother the leftist are people who insist that all these facts are subject to discussion. These people must be declared racist. The explosion at the Brussels airport for the leftist is an occasion to gather for a rally against Islamophobia.

Lefty - he, like a domestic cat, crooned and kissed by his masters, going to everyone on his knees. This cat is very good at home. But if she gets into the big world, she will not last a month. Not because people are bad. And because people are different. It is true that between the left and right there is not a worldview, but a psychological difference. The left is one who believes that all people are good. All people are good - except for those who do not recognize that all people are good.

If refugees from Afghanistan and Syria are a continuous stream, then they are exactly the same as us. Neither their culture nor their history is any worse. They must be met and apologized to them for what is bad for them, but it's good for us. They have other customs, but these customs are no worse, and we must respect them, and weld halal dinner for them. If migrants in Cologne arrange a Taharrokh - one must think what to do for these poor people. If they arrange a group rape volunteer - it must be silenced, so as not to damage the business of helping poor migrants.

Evil is an artificially constructed concept. Therefore, police and surveillance is not necessary. FBI, CIA, NSA - bad people who listen to other people's conversations - it's a shame. After all, all people are good, is not it?

All people are kind. Therefore, they all deserve prosperity and prosperity. It must be guaranteed to them. Where will the prosperity come from, if they do not work, it does not matter. This is an annoying and unpleasant question. Lefty ignores annoying questions.

On the contrary, the rightly are those who believe that people, unfortunately, are not all good. People are born equal. But they are not equal. History, education, environment, intelligence, personal character, culture - all this leads to the fact that in ten to twelve years one person is different from the other.

And if you invite to the happy, well-fed, happy West - good people with this other culture and tell them that they are very good, and you are to blame for them - then it may happen that good people with this other culture will no longer kill the bicyclists in Tajikistan, but passers-by in Westminster.

If a person were always and everywhere good, the state would not be needed.

Why don't you go back and read the travel advisories from other governments at the time -- including Canada, etc. which has had guidance in place for years - https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/tajikistan
