I know you are. So you should be crying that BTC is traceable end to end and traded on financial markets with full government oversight. I guess making money is making you soft.
You have a weird idea of what a Libertarian is, but it's cool, at least we know you are devout statist through and through
Not only that but the very definition of blockchain is that is keeps a public record of every transaction ever made. Any one who knew jack about BTC knew this from day 1.
Fascinating read. Another glaring hole in the kool-aid that crypto people would have you believe is the reason why we should all go crypto. Anonymity is a false lie. As well as many of the other promises that were floated around but proven to be wrong.
So people should wait until the US dollar is 'officially' in hyperinflation? And if so, you do realize the US government has a prior history to 'move the goalposts' in what defines inflation & recession right?
Worries about hyperflation is another FUD talking point in order to scare people into going crypto. Fed has done an excellent job of mitigating inflation with a soft landing.
Wikipedia has a long and detailed definition of Libertarianism. As far as I'm concerned, it's anarchism, where extremes on the right and the left meet and realize they are more alike than different. It's an idealistic notion that humans need no government oversight, that fundamental freedom is man versus the elements, the sort of apocalyptic fantasy of a "Walking Dead" scenario which, before it was nuclear holocaust and bunker building in the middle of nowhere. Anarchism itself is social paranoia that America in particular revels in, based on the popularity of apocalyptic religions there. People can't seem to live mundane lives anymore, they want dramatic meaning fueled by endless supplies or legal and illegal narcotics. They want their lives to be the next end of world movie, to justify the preparation (I know a guy whose car trunk is organized for it), the time and effort devoted to survivalist skills development. So what will it be now that nuclear holocaust is so 70s and improbable? A zombie virus? Hords of foreign brown murderers and rapists? A Chinese invasion? FFS, give me something! I feel better.
I'm not in America, you're such a baby, can't live your life without guidance from your nanny state, that's why you like living in Singapore and getting spanked if you litter Read this book, maybe can snap you out of your brain washed ideologies, but I very much doubt it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sovereign_Individual
I don't believe for one second in the sovereign individual; it's the anarchist fable reply to proletarian dictatorship or pure capitalist supply and demand, all pipe dreams thought out by young intellectuals with too much time on their hands and no desire to work. The basic issue with anarchism is that it necessarily devolves into fascism, the power of the strong over the weak. When you live in the middle of nowhere Canada or America or any country with vast open lands and few people, it doesn't matter what you believe in, nobody gives two shits. You shoot your neighbor dead 20 miles away for his solar panel... Meh, disrespect of anarchist principles, life goes on. But most of the world's population is urban, and without rules, it quickly devolves into mayhem. That's why, over many centuries, men have established rules, dictatorial at first then democratic over time. It's not been easy and is still far from perfect, but giving individuals a voice to elect their government representatives to make decisions affecting the community is a huge leap forward in human consciousness. And what's crazy, if they suck at their jobs, you can fire them and elect new ones. Dictatorships don't allow that. I get it, some people get upset because they never get to elect the people they want. They're on the margins. America was built by people on the margins who then built a political system that gave protections to the marginalized. Gays, blacks, nazis all benefit from protections, like freedom of speech and freedom to behave in ways that may not please the majority. If only everyone was like me things would be so much easier but dreadfully dull. Mind you, in Europe they have majority rule. If the majority doesn't want to put up with your minority antics you can move elsewhere, like America for example. The problem is when a minority thinks it's a majority and behaves like one. You get Trump and craziness. On the other hand is the case of minorities who believe that democracy will never bring about the system they believe is best for them. Either they become violent and try to overthrow democracy for a dictatorship (what Trump is advocating for) or they withdraw and want nothing to do with "the system". True anarchists live away from urban centers. I respect those self sustaining people who're willing and able to sign out. I have family members who live somewhat recluse lives and seem quite content when I visit them, even if it's definitely not for me. As long as they don't advocate for their life on the rest of us I'm ok with it. But Libertarianism is an ideology and a political movement whose ambition is to reduce the system of governance to its most minimalistic. No government healthcare or school system, no taxation, a basic legal system.. it's an idealist vision of a world made for country people overwhelmed by urban life dominating their way of living. Unlike hippies and greenies who create experimental communes, libertarians are social conservatives.
