Housing Futures

Discussion in 'Financial Futures' started by CalScholar, Mar 22, 2007.

  1. Is anyone here trading or familiar with housing futures? Any info you have, including a good futures brokerage that allows trading in housing futures would be helpful.

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong place. I'm new to futures and, to this point, my trading experience is limited to equities and options.

    Thanks!

  2. Unfortunately with an average daily volume of 33 spread out across 11 contracts, the answer to your first question is almost certainly "no" no matter how large a population EliteTrader has. :)

Interactive Brokers will let you trade these, and there's apparently a market maker. For Chicago, I'm currently showing a bid/ask of 163/166.20. For Boston 165/167.

    That's not bad.

I'm long Denver and up a bit on it. Go Denver! :)

  4. Thanks for the replies. After posting, I learned that IB allows trading in these futures. I'm not quite ready to trade them, but it's a very intriguing instrument. Still, anything with such negligible volume sets off warning bells in my head.
