  1. Hey DB from your book, would you mind sharing your entry method when using the 5sec or 1 tick chart (if you entered off those charts)? I have a couple of ideas of my own but I figured however you did it would be consistent/simple enough for you or else you wouldn't have done it that way. I know it doesn't matter what you did but I Just figured I'd ask before reinventing the wheel. One idea I have is simply place the stop two points away from the current price. Also if it's in your book somewhere I'll see if I can find it.

I don't recall using anything that small to enter. In any case, this is something you'd have to test.

  3. My mistake. I thought you entered off the faster interval with the whole tickq divergence thing. Just was wondering where you placed your entry as there are many swing points on the faster chart etc. testing has begun. Thanks for the response.

  4. I know you tend to help those that keep an active journal I haven't been posting to my journal but I am doing the work and will post more diligently after the holidays but I did have two questions.

    1. Can the tickq be used similarly to the way wyckoff used the averages. Would that be the purpose of it's use?

    2. When I watch the faster interval which I use a 1tick range bar chart (each "bar" has a .25 range) when I think of almost micro amt I tend to see behavior better. I see these "micro" ranges like 2-4 points and price breaking/falsely break/poking out one side then reversing etc then we move out of that micro range and "trend" (which is really just a 1 min wave but appears more like a trend (multiple up and down waves in one direction) on the faster interval. Also these micro trends can appear as a channel which is seen on the 1 min as a move with overlapping bars. So to make a short question longer would it be "incorrect" to observe the faster interval in this manner?

The TICKQ and the market averages are derived from different things. They are not interchangeable.

As for what is correct or incorrect with regard to observations, that will depend on whether or not the observations yield the desired result. If what you're doing provides clarity, it's worth doing. If not . . .

  6. Yes I understand they are derived from different things. I suppose what I was trying to say was more along the lines of if for Wyckoff the averages turned up before the stock he was trading did and the stock he was trading was at a point let's say testing support or a halfway point it would provide more confidence to take the trade similarly to using tickq divergence at a predetermined potential support point?

  7. human make a market. underlie HFT is human. (some say less human lol). but market is wholly made by human, and as such potential predict.

'straight line' is one attempt to capture human experience, albeit crude attempt

Since they are derived from different things, I can't say whether he would have used them the same way. And since he could not trade the average, a tick calculation, even if possible, would have been of no benefit.

In any event, he didn't use the average but the "wave", which consisted only of the leaders.

But I am sure I have always thought of Christmastime, when it has come round . . . as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys.
