I like the theory that politicians were something special until they got concussion playing US football. Then they were normal.

After listen to every talking head spew about the Great Peyton Manning legacy, I bet deep down inside, in that dark place that no one is allowed, Eli is ecstatic that Peyton choked.

  4. Peyton didn't "choke". His entire team on both sides of the ball were manhandled by faster/stronger more athletic players.
You could have put Montana, Marino, or anyone in at QB yesterday and the results would have been the same.

Denver's special teams were atrocious. Their defense was overmatched. And their coaching was so overwhelmed it looked like a novice trying to play a grandmaster in chess.

I agree. Dayum that defense was smothering him. Sheesh they didn't let anyone breathe.

  6. Great players sometimes get old very quickly right before our eyes. I had the feeling watching Manning yesterday that was what we were seeing. Yes, the Seattle defense is special, but he looked slow, confused and panicky at times. Those ints were Romo-like.

The other thing is that the seattle db's were really crowding the Denver receivers and their safeties were playing shallow. Aikman commented on it a couple of times and said Seattle safety Eric Wright told him they didn't fear Manning's deep ball. Looks like they were right.

Usually he gets the ball out a lot quicker, so it is very hard to get to him. He was under a lot of pressure yesterday, probably more than I ever recall him receiving. I don't know if it was due to him being a tick slow with his reads or Seattle taking away his primary options, but the Seattle pressure got home several times and was a huge factor in the game.

Is it just me, or are some of you turned off by the Super Bowl the way it's WAY over-hyped, thousands for tickets, and beloved worshiping of spoiled millionaires that most think are "heroes?" I found myself watching walking dead re-runs more than the tacky circus.

  10. The Bronco's did make it really crappy the way they played. They probably thought they had it won before the kickoff.
