January 6 was a mere demonstration, not an insurrection. That is why not single person was charged with insurrection because it will not stand in court. I actually, experienced real life Coup D'Etat in the Philippines. Not one, but multiple ones. During President Corazon Aquino time in office, they launched multiple coups against her, like 5 or 6 if I remember correctly. Our building was full of holes from bullets that flew on both sides. Soldiers died on both sides. Soldiers occupied buildings, posted snipers at the top of buildings. A Coup D'Etat is very similar to an insurrection where an armed group tries to topple the government and seize power. The tanks and APCs (or Bradleys) came out. Soldiers in full battle gear armed to the teeth. January 6 was a stroll in the park demonstration and nothing more.
