Honda Domestic Output Plunges 30.6%, 8th Straight Monthly Decline

  1. TOKYO (NQN)--Honda Motor Co. (7267) said Tuesday its domestic output tumbled 30.6% year on year to 73,020 units in June, marking the eighth straight monthly decline. Meanwhile, domestic sales fell 7.1% to 50,876 units, marking the second straight monthly drop.

    The company exported 25,485 cars last month, down 51% from the previous year, making for the ninth consecutive month of decline. Its overseas output shrank 15.1% to 184,832 units, a ninth consecutive monthly drop.

    Honda Motor's domestic output in the first half of 2009 decreased 37.1% on the year to 376,363 units.

  3. Honda will not stay there. I don't think Toyota is setting any records either. But Honda and Toyota cars outrank anything else on the road for longterm reliability.

    Assuming auto sales recover sometime soon, they will be on top.
