Apparently the owner was obsessed with the movie. More here. He tried to sell it for $15 million. Wow. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3545554/African-Queen-house-Missouri-sale-15m.html I actually kind of like it. Certainly not everything. Never been to Missouri, though.
Well, it's certainly an interesting house. I am not sure I'd want to live there though. Stuffed animals creep me out.
Earthship, anyone? A friend a while back was considering doing this. I don't think I'm into it quite yet. Possibly never. https://www.earthshipglobal.com/we-sell-earthships And the listing. https://www.zillow.com/homes/17-Earthship-Way-Taos,-NM,-87571_rb/2097659499_zpid/
Well, I've done my fair share of upgrading houses but I am definitely taking a pass on this one. Yikes! Looks like hoarder remnants. Maybe at $828k it's a deal? https://nypost.com/2020/06/27/nyc-house-selling-for-828k-has-the-scariest-listing-photos-ever/
Is that price actually cheap for NYC? Because this place needs to be stripped and scrubbed of everything top to bottom by the looks of it to be made habitable. I like the fireplace, I wonder whether it can be saved.
Pre-Revolution. 1766. https://nypost.com/2020/07/03/nycs-historic-wyckoff-bennett-homestead-on-market-for-3-2m/ Too pricey for moi. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1669-E-22nd-St-Brooklyn-NY-11229/30727034_zpid/?
The house was built in 1945, so yes underneath all that paint lies a beautiful mantel that is absolutely worth restoring.
Definitely needs paint, IMO. Only a plane flight away... https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/39-River-Pr-St-Croix-VI/2083037367_zpid/
