Because in saying "Flynn did nothing wrong" he is saying "Flynn did nothing illegal". That doesn't mean Trump liked what Flynn said or did, just that nothing was illegal. Maybe he thought Flynn couldn't be part of the team going forward. Maybe he thought (correctly) the press would eat Flynn alive and it was better for the administration if Flynn was no longer a part of it.

 

What are you rambling about? All I said was that it was quite a press conference. Was awesome to see Trump talk to the press like that.
