I assume that security is not your forte.
Of course, I'm sure you are quite adept at other things in life.

  7. 8 years in the USMC. Last four as a Counterintelligence Specialist. Feel free to research what that entails, then get back to me.

    Oh, okay.
    Is that all?
Perhaps you have placed whatever you did learn in the back of your mind if you think a simple pat search is too much to endure for the security of an airliner.
I believe I will readily take a pat search to avoid being blown up.
Simple pat searches are "security 101" in case you forgot that part.
    Stay safe.
Treat those TSA employees with respect.
    Have a goodun' bud.

  9. Quite the contrary. The endless war on terror serves as a constant reminder of what I learned while I was in the service. In fact, one of the classes I used to teach, "Terrorist Goals and Objectives" comes directly to mind when discussing the TSA.

Specifically, one of the short term objectives of a terrorist organization is to cause an overreaction by the host nation (that would be us); a continuation of that objective would be to get the host nation security forces (i.e.: TSA) to institute draconian anti terror measures which cause the population to resent the authorities.

Now, when I taught "Search and Seizure", we had long discussions on the fourth amendment. The fourth amendment states we shall be secure in our persons, places and effects, and that shall not be violated except by a warrant and word from a judge (paraphrasing).

The terrorists, it would seem, have succeeded in achieving the aforementioned short term objective. The advent of the TSA causes Americans to, rather than fly, to seek alternate means of travel. This is preferable to getting irradiated by potentially harmful xrays, or being subject to sexual molestation.

In short, every American is now an automatic suspect once they set foot into an airport. They abdicate their fourth amendment rights in order to board a plane. The TSA has strip searched gandmas and groped 6 yr olds. This would be a textbook overreaction, and considering this was not the case 10 years ago...nor was it even thinkable....it was quite a feat. Score one for Bin Laden.

Finally, there is no such thing as 100% security. The scanners that are currently deployed cannot see inside body orifices. What's next? Full cavity searches to board a plane? What happens if a terrorist has the bright idea that, rather than try to sneak explosives or a weapon through all that security...why not just target those long slow moving lines (where no security is present)?

Terrorists are notorious for choosing soft targets...and they have a saying...it is foolish to hunt lions when there are plenty of sheep to be had.

Starting to see the problem with their (TSA) violations yet? They don't make us any safer...that is only an illusion. And by allowing our own citizens to be treated like criminals, we are handing the terrorists, who's goal is to destroy our way of life...a huge victory...getting them closer to that goal. In fact, between the TSA, NDAA, Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, et al, they've won.

    Enjoy your holiday.

    Okay little brother.
Your "extensive experience" makes you an expert. LOL
I'm sure glad you're not in charge of airport security.
    You know everything.
    I know nothing.
    Hope your ego feels better.
    See you on another thread.
    Stay safe out there.
