Exactly. One can call it with a lot of different names, essentially it's the same TA. The 'charlatans' argument is true in every field. People on main street going "hedge funds are a scam, just look at Madoff", does it mean that all hedge funds are scams? No.
It almost feels like some people would rather be an unsuccessful trader who doesn't use any TA than a successful one that does. Madness!
Neither me or any TA disbelievers have ever see any TA traders make live call that are in profit. May be I am missing something here, if you have any link that proof TA are profitable in live calls, please post the link.
Those strategies are not designed to be used by individual traders, the capital requirements to hire hundreds of people, design and run these systems price the majority out of the market. Does this prove quantitative trading is the only real method of trading? Or is this simply a case of quantitative trading being the best and currently the most advanced frame work for institutions to employ Vast amounts of capital in the financial markets. Is trading new? Did the market not exist before hundreds of PhDs could be hired to create systems for a single firm? The answer is obvious and its obvious from your posting you have never made it in this market on your own. You may have worked at a firm yet you are expecting us to believe you, on your own, are running systems that required the firm to hire hundreds of PhDs to design and run? Thanks for the laugh.
If you are too lazy to search this site, then that is your problem. There have been numerous live posting by TA traders on this site. I personally do not follow anyone's trading but have come across a bunch over the years. And why do you care anyways, don't you already have a "real" method that is super secret and successful?
Honestly, I don't care about TA. The main point in this post is myself or Surf or any TA disbelievers ask any TA experts here to prove they are profitable via live call or even any past links. I went through a few of the TA live calls and non of them proof to be profitable in long term, the best is almost break even. The answer is pretty obvious now. As I said, for those who interest in real discussion, please IM me, and I will ignore all the TA guru IM for sure

Just because you start something off by saying "honestly"....it doesnt mean what you are about to say is honest Kinda like when someone says "with all due respect"...it usually is followed by criticism. It's funny, as someone who claims to be a quantitative trader, I'm surprised that you find a "few calls" as sufficient to make a judgment. The sample size is tiny. Not to mention that MOST traders who attempt to trade end up failing, regardless of what approach they take. Anyways, no matter now. I can feel someone (or even a whole TA group) are trying to avoid the live call or even a posted a link that proof TA is working. The answer is obvious now.
