Historical Fundamentals Data?

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by Stoxtrader, Feb 20, 2009.

  1. Doing a quick google search, I see that Hemscott and Edgar Online provide some type of historical fundamental data. (I am looking for historical ratios, balance sheet numbers, etc.) Who else should I consider as a data provider? I see that MetaStock and TradeStation *might* already have this built in?

(Basically I'd be using fundamentals data to pre-screen equities before looking at technical indicators. I already do this using a cobbled-together framework of Java, C#, and Postgresql, but only have data going back 2 years. I'd like to backtest using historical fundamental data for 8-10 years or more, and wouldn't mind using a platform like MetaStock, TradeStation, NinjaTrader, WealthLab, OpenQuant, something along these lines.)

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Stox
