In my view, the first female president of the U.S. , even though she'll be a Democrat, will be Ivanka Trump. ---sorry Hillary.
People should note that the first female leader in most western Democratic countries normally comes from the right-wing party in the country not the left-wing party. For example - Thatcher in the U.K, Merkel in Germany. Note to exGOPer - the above is an example of a personal assertion rather than the quoted text of an article. Please feel free to refute it. I will even provide one current list of female leaders (but not necessarily the first leader) as a starting point - http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/completelist/0,29569,2005455,00.html
re·pub·lic rəˈpəblik/ noun noun: republic; plural noun: republics a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. archaic a group with a certain equality between its members. There can be no question that the U.S. is not much of a democracy at the national level, despite a few elements of democracy being present from time to time. Apparently we are not much of a Republic either. Perhaps Oligarchy or Plutocracy is more accurate. As in, "... and to the Oligarchy for which it Stands..." . It is nevertheless a lovely place to live for 10% or so of the population . And for even more than that, so long as they are healthy.
Correct. A republic is a representative democracy. But it is not a democracy. Could you imagine having all registered voters vote on every single thing? ---That would be a democracy.
10 percent???---This country is the greatest country on Earth and is the greatest place to live for anyone willing to assimilate and work hard.
