Tradesports: Republicans -- Seems like that Allen contract has moved up some last month or so but it's there for McCain if he wants it (he's unchanged in his lead pretty much): http://www.tradesports.com/aav2/tra...lect=22739&updateList=true&showExpired=false# Democrats - PigWoman contract way out in front -- been like that for months: http://www.tradesports.com/aav2/tra...lect=22739&updateList=true&showExpired=false#
There are so many half truths in your statement Z10 it would take up too much time to address them all but this is the easiest one. Rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. How did Bush render the UN irrelevant? By going to war without their approval? Bill Clinton did the same thing along with a host of other countries, yes the UN is irrelevant but not because of Clinton or Bush but because of their corruption and own failings.
Hillary faces one huge problem and one somewhat smaller problem. The huge problem is the polls that show her losing to credible republican candidates. After eight years in the wilderness, electability is likelyto prove a huge issue with democrat party insiders. The smaller issue is the frighteningly large socialist/marxist/pacifist kook fringe in the democrat party. As much a s conservatives see Hillary as a nightmare hard left activist, these kooks see her as too moderate. Bill was able to use them to position himself as a centrist, but they are much stronger now. If Sarandon and her fellow travelers actually turn on Hillary, she could be toast. Republican candidates face a terrible choice. Given Bush's abysmal popularity rating, they need to distance themselves from him, but doing so runs the risk of alienating party regulars, who are important in the nomination process. Interestingly, McCain , who has already established himself as the anti-Bush, is out publicly supporting the White House.
I'm a hardcore democrat, but a Hillary nomination will be a disaster for my party. I don't hate her, but her attempts to be a centrist are futile and laughable at best (ie. flag burning amendment, grand theft auto, etc.). If she were the nominee she would get around 45-47% of the popular vote but will get destroyed in the electoral college. She will lose some of the key state Kerry won, such as New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, without bringing in any additional states. The only Republicans she can beat are people like Brownback and Frist, but they won't get the nomination. McCain is also in a difficult situation. He could actually win the presidency if he were to run as an independent, because that would legitimize his image as a non-partisan maverick. But alas, if you wish to win the Republican nomination, you need to appeal to the neo-confederate racists and christian extremists who make up the GOP base. McCain is now to the right of Bush on Iraq and even supports the teaching of intelligent design in our public schools. By 2008, McCain will be virtually unrecognizable because he would'v moved so far to the right. In my opinion, there is a democratic ticket that could be unbeatable in 2008, and it does not include gore, clinton, kerry, or edwards. For the Republican side, I think George Allen will win the nomination. He can easily appease the conservative base and is a southerner with rugged good looks and dumb, just like bush.
That list was put together after just a few years of Bush's idiot reign. If we fully update all of Bush's stupidity, and if you call them "half truths" those aspects that are fully true still total up to the actions of the dumbest, and worst president America has ever had. Unless of course we are scoring a great president by what benefits the wealthy elite and corporate America.... The environment? The poor? The debt-load of our children? The educational system? The goodwill of allies? The energy crunch? The degree of divisiveness? Hatred by his own party? The minimization of science in the name of "faith"? The exporting of jobs? A fully open border during a time of "homeland security?"
barak obama should be given a chance imo; can't think of a politician as charismatic and intelligent as he is, he's got excellent communication skills and can connect to the people. hasn't put at foot wrong since his election as illi sen....as da press says, he's got da mida's touch!
