I am not re-posting your photo and when you think about it, you don't want me to re-post it and neither will the site admins. Calm down. It was bad & juvenile judgement on your part however you figured that out and deleted the post. That is all people need to know. Yes, very sour cheerios. Even you post since about the bumpstock on the other thread shows your childlike mind just does not quit saying stupid shit. I just deleted the PM you sent me without reading it. Work to do.
I didn't delete anything, and there was no bad judgment or threat. The only thing I did was post the picture of the weapon you said I did not own. To ensure you would not claim that the picture was taken off the internet (like you did with the first one that was), I put your screen name on the counter beside it. Similar to the way people put newspapers with today's date next to something to show verifiable proof. Except I had no newspaper. End of story. This is a political forum. Sometimes conversations regarding the 2nd amendment come up, especially during tragedies where guns were used in this manner. Discussion is likely to ensue. If you get so easily triggered over these discussions, my suggestion is to skip over those posts, or work up the courage to be able to read them. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them stupid or childish.
What's the logic you're talking about? When the country was founded there was a distrust of a standing army, which is ironic today because now we worship our standing army. So the idea was to have militias in the states ready to be called up - this is the heart of the second amendment as written. Not, the ability to hoard weapons for your personal use. At the time of the signing of the Constitution gun ownership for personal use was a state issue. If you go and look at gun laws throughout our history that has always been the precedent until recently in the Supreme Court cases of D.C. and Chicago, circa 2008. Does no guns in city limits ring any bells because that was a common law throughout the country for hundreds of years. Also, if you notice, these mass shootings have exploded since the Supreme Court took the ability to regulate guns away from the states. Ok, all of this needs to be put in context. First thing is the real debate. You are making an argument based on an armed populace and an unarmed populace. That is not the argument I am making. I am arguing an unlimited second amendment is a public safety issue. All constitutional rights have limits.
My response wasn't to you at all. I was responding to Peil's comment regarding how a 2nd amendment is designed to protect us from the government. I agree with you that an unlimited 2nd amendment is a public safety issue - if you are defining an "unlimited 2nd amendment" by no checks or reviews on ownership. However, saying mass shootings have exploded since the SC took away the state's rights to regulate is very disingenuous. Illinois had strong gun laws for years, and Chicago had more shootings than anywhere. Mass shootings could also be caused by more social media, economic reasons, political polarization, etc. Correlation does not imply causation and all that.
ISIS, al queda and the taliban seem to challenge the US government pretty well with not too much advanced equipment, so....yeah, I think private gun owners can really challenge the government.
If all private gun owners rose up and challenged the government, they would most certainly make an impact (especially since many of them are soldiers and law enforcement). But why would they? The vast majority love this country and what it stands for. Now, if that ever changed, who knows?
Was it you or an admin who deleted it then? https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...eizures-violence-on-police-revolution.312574/ The little post link arrow in my quote goes nowhere now? I recall removing the photo embed to help you out should you re-consider your adolescent post. I was not upset by your double-entendre "Slartibartfast's sleep button" but it raised an eyebrow. Not just my screen-name as you try to mislead above. I chose to make light of it/you instead of being too stern dad about it. If you did not delete the post as you say, it caught an admin's attention also I surmise? I did not report it. Weapons of war should not be in the hands of Wayne LePierre's weekend manchild-warrior assholes. It was no surprise to me when the Vegas shooters brother said the guy had never been in the military. Your: FN Herstal SCAR-H, "M4 and an LWRC REPR" should be take off you before you shoot someone by mistake.
President Trump has said he will look at gun laws later. Big mistake. Any erosion of Second Amendment rights will turn his base against him quicker than backing amnesty. Jimmy Kimmel can go fuck himself. The only acceptable position on gun control compromises is "Not one fucking inch." You know, like the left's position on abortion, immigration, affirmative action, etc etc. The reason we will not compromise is any concession just raises the floor for further concessions. The left is never going to be satisfied until they have mandatory confiscation. Why start down that slippery slope?
1. Magna removed it. 2. All guns can be considered "weapons of war". They are, after all, designed to kill - not tickle. 3. I won't be shooting anyone by mistake because I take my training seriously. Hopefully I'll never have to shoot anyone on purpose, either. 4. I never, ever threatened you - you just made that shit up. 5. I never said "Slartibartfast's sleep button", nor was there any double-entendre. I said "since you are so sleepy" after you posted "yawn". The rest was again, bullshit made up by you. 6. You obviously get your panties in a wad over these things. Probably should avoid conversations on guns.
