If Edwards is "shameless" in his pandering, what do you call the pandering of McCain, Romney, and Rudy (the three headed monster)?
Is Edwards any more of an obvious fraud than Obama or Hill-Dog? Wouldn't you say the obvious fraud rating of all three of them is about equal?
Very good question. I make a distinction between being obviously wrong, where they are all about equal, and being total duplicitous demagogues. Edwards' whole message is based on this "two america" nonsense and his claims that if the government takes enough money away from people who earned it, everything will somehow be fine. One would have hoped that people in 2007 are more sophisticated than to swallow 1930's populist nonsense whole, but apparently not.
John Edwards, man of the people, champion of the poor and downtrodden. And how do they know the neighbor is a "rabid rabid republican?" Because he put up one sign? Maybe it's because he doesn't appreciate that what he wants really doesn't matter. It's all about the Edwards and what they want. You'd think this guy would be thrilled to have a man like Edwards living ina 28,000 square foot mansion across the street from his auto shop out in the sticks. Why couldn't the cheap bastard spend a few hundred thousand, chump change for Edwards, and tidy the place up so Elizabeth doesn't have to look at it? ********************************* Elizabeth Edwards afraid of neighbor She has never met `rabid Republican,' but wouldn't be nice MIKE BAKER RALEIGH --Elizabeth Edwards says she is scared of the "rabid, rabid Republican" who owns property across the street from her Orange County home -- and she doesn't want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor. Edwards, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, particularly recalls the time neighbor Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way near his property. The Edwards family has yet to meet Johnson in person. "I wouldn't be nice to him, anyway," Edwards said in an interview. "I don't want my kids anywhere near some guy who, when he doesn't like somebody, the first thing he does is pull a gun out. It scares the business out of me." But Johnson defended the occasion he brandished a gun, saying those on his land didn't have the proper approval. "I use the gun for protection, and I considered that an appropriate time," Johnson said. "Sometimes you have to take drastic measures." Edwards views Johnson as a "rabid, rabid Republican" who refuses to clean up his "slummy" property just to spite her family, whose lavish 28,000-square-foot estate is nearby on 102 wooded acres. Johnson, 55, acknowledges his Republican roots. But he takes offense to the suggestion he has purposefully left his property, including an old garage he leases for use as a car shop, in dilapidated condition. Johnson said he has lived his entire life on the property, which he said his family purchased before the Great Depression. He said he's spent a lot of money to try and fix up the 42-acre tract. "I have to budget. I have to live within my means," Johnson said. "I don't have millions of dollars to fix the place." Johnson, who has posted a "Go Rudy Giuliani 2008" sign on a fence just 100 feet from the entrance to the Edwards' driveway, has criticized Edwards for the scale of their nearby home. The property and home, which includes an indoor basketball court, an indoor handball court and an indoor pool, is valued at $5.3 million. The Edwardses are still putting the final touches on the property, which they purchased in 2003. "I thought he was supposed to be for the poor people," Johnson said. "But does he ever socialize with any poor people? He doesn't speak to me." Johnson said he has put his property on the market, in part blaming the high property taxes for his decision to leave. He also wants to move for another reason. "I don't want to live somewhere where someone's always complaining about me," he said
A view of the old garage Johnson leases for use as a car shop, in its pristine condition. And people wonder why the term republiklan is so accurately descriptive... Did Johnson mention the "dog" that he uses as a watchdog? Edwards has reason to be fearful... Very funny. Tell me, who was there first? Isn't it a little self-centered to move out into the sticks then complain because you don't have the same neighbors you had at your multimillion buck Georgetown mansion? It's so typical of Edwards that he is always telling everyone how much he is for the poor, but i guess he just doesn't want any of them living near him.
Complete ad hominem crap. Reminds me of Hannity trying to denounce JFK Jr's message on the environment because he uses a jet to go to speaking engagements, rather than flying in coach. Oh well, I guess the model for republiklans is Fat Limbaugh, and Man Coulter who preach capitalism to the poor and middle class repugniklans...and make millions in the process off of their dittoheaded followers...
Listsen, Elizabeth Edwards started it, not me and not the guy who lived across the road his whole life until Mrs. 28, 000Sq.Ft. Mansion decided he was spoiling her view. Maybe she spent too much time with Teresa Heinz.
Listen, Man Coulter started it....blah, blah, blah. So funny watching the repugniklans get in a ditty when dems practice capitalism and use of political power the same way they do... I think they get confused when they see dems playing their game...
