Hillary 2024

  1. You would think that she would get the message.

However, the fact that she is five times the candidate that Biden is and Biden sits there in the White House does not help her with her delusions.

  2. The Dems dont have anyone in 2024 except Biden and Kamala which means... they dont have anyone in 2024. As long as the GOP avoids trump or cruz in 2024 thye should be able to win...even Desantis is trying to hard ot be trump light. 2024 is going to be one of our worst elections in recent memory.

  3. I know it is your turf, so I will yield as makes sense, but I would not rule out Glen Youngkin for the republicans. He is new but has demonstrated ability to take dem votes which is a precious commodity. There will be buzz anyway. And of course Virginia is a one term limit governorship, so the governor is sort of looking at their next move whether they want to or not.

  5. We will see because Youngkin lost his buzz after he took office really. He ran on some issues that basically no one is really talking about anymore in Virginia so he would have to do something else maybe. As long as he does not cater to the far right base he can gain ground in the party. To be honest he can coast the next 4 years and take credit for eveyrthing good in the state as economically the state is pretty strong overall and education and social issues not a big problem. So he could do nothing the next 4 years and take all credit and use that.

But he does stuff like this:
"Virginians do want fewer abortions as opposed to more abortions," the governor said in a meeting at The Washington Post shortly after the decision was made public."

There is no way to say factually that Virginians want more or less abortions, many just want legal access or the choice. Youngkin is pushing for a 15 week ban with exceptions so he is trying to find the middle ground at least which helps his cause.

Against the dems he would just have to avoid falling into the trump trap of catering to the far base and then he can win in PA, MI, WI and MI which is all you need to win assuming other states stay same color. he has a better chance in 2024 than Cruz-Rubio-DeSantis wing.

  6. At a minimum, if Youngkin can maintain his straight arrow image and not get caught in a motel room taking crack with prostitutes (not that hard for some, seemingly very hard for others) then if a pub wins in 2024 he can easily get a cabinet position.

As an aside and speaking of VA, I heard about a Supreme Court case the other day that had not previously crossed my mind. I could look it up I spoze but, I guess it was pre-Roe and back when Virginia was conservative. Apparently the facts giving rise to the issue, were that abortion was not legal in Virginia, but some New York abortion mill or the like had billboards around VA advertising their abortions services in New York. So, VA argued that it was furtherance of something that is a crime in their state, and the abortion mill arguing free speech, interstate this and that the crime would be in New York so it is not for VA to get involved in enforcement or regulation. Much to my surprise, the abortion mill apparently won. Anyway, you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to suspect that that case is going to get a whole lotta attention in the near future- with the arrival of the internet throwing some more complications into the mix. No punchline there. Just sayin, it is going to be deja vu all over again for that type of issue.

  9. I'll beat her. I'm pro-choice even though I've been profiting on Roe v. Wade being overturned. Retail has been piling into the abortion sector.
